This how to article will explain how to limit the selectable projects when any Jira user is editing configure the custom - field valueto match your requirements.

Instructions

To configure a custom field

  1. Go to Customfield Admin Page

  2. Find the Project Picker (multiple projects) Version Picker For JSD custom field that you created and click on the cog and then Configure

  3. At the bottom of the page click on Edit Selected ProjectsProject Version Picker for JSD Configurations

  4. The following screen will load

Projects

The projects visible on your custom field are configurable by limiting the allowed selectable projects 

Info

The admin user is able to select only one method of limiting Jira project visibility:

  • By Project

  • By Project Category

  • By Project Type

Versions

The custom field can be configured to show versions, the versions that would be present on the customfield are filtered by the chosen value of project on the edit screen.

Version can be enforced to be mandatory

The versions visible on your custom field are configurable by limiting the allowed selectable versions

Info

The admin user is able to configure the visible versions by

  • Released Versions

  • Unreleased Versions

  • Archived Versions

Components

The custom field can be configured to show component, the component that would be present on the customfield are filtered by the chosen value of project on the edit screen.

Components can be enforced to be mandatory

After finalizing your configurations click Save
